University of Eswatini (UNESWA)

The University of Eswatini is a leading university in the Southern African region, enrolling over 10,000 students and representing more than 70% of the country’s university student population. The University comprises eight faculties, including Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Health Sciences, Humanities, and Consumer Sciences.

Within the project, participating units include the Faculty of Consumer Sciences (Textile Apparel and Design; Food Science and Nutrition Technology) and the Faculty of Agriculture (Horticulture, Crop Production, and Biosystems Engineering). These disciplines are closely linked to climate change and environmental sustainability, addressing challenges in textile production, human consumption, and climate-resilient food systems.

The selected departments include over 600 students, more than 50 academic staff, and 8 technical staff, supported by well-equipped laboratories and strong research capacity. The University places significant emphasis on internationalization and hosts students and staff from across Africa.
